What is your most memorable Gravel Worlds experience?

“Honestly I’d favor two memories. First was running into friends doing the 150! It was great to have the routes meet with each other at a couple points and cheer each other on (or have them scare me since I ride solo). Love having that jump scare when I’m zoning on the rolling hills.

Second,  First to Last party was a ball hands down. The Gravel Worlds team still savoring all kinds of energy for their last in, and that’s just what made the event for me.”

What did that experience teach you?

”The biggest reason I’ve stuck with gravel and do more events versus mountain biking is the people. No matter what level of riding you are, everyone in the gravel community continues to be the most supportive. First to Last and the Gravel Worlds family is a testament to it, and they’ll keep having you come back for more.”

Would you like to shout out any people who made that day special for you?

”Hands down, Marya Richard (@marsatax). Met her at Gravel Camp 2023 and past two years have always found her on optional gravel routes at RAGBRAI. What a badass of a lady, she grinds those gravel seas with the best of them.”

What would you like to tell someone if they were debating on signing up for an event like Gravel Worlds?

”It’s going to challenge you in some way, and you might have to fight it. This group has ensured that you’ll be challenged but you’ll be safe and in good hands no matter the route, long or short or DNF. But I will promise you this. no matter what or when you make it through the finish line, the family is going to be cheering for you, LOUD.”
